A good thing about these circuit breakers is the fact that they can be switched on or off manually or automatically. They’re primarily designed to protect an electric circuit from any form of damage which may be caused by an overload or a short circuit. They also function by detecting a fault as well as interrupting a current flow of electricity. An advantage about circuit breakers is the fact that depending on the appliance or machine used different circuit breakers are readily available for selection. An example is the switch gear which is designed to protect high voltage circuits especially those feeding huge cities.


Due to their wide range of functions, low voltage switches are grouped depending on their functions as well as their power ability. Some are used to protect high power voltages while others are used to mediate low power voltages. Example of a low power voltage resistor is the fuse.
